Mission-focused strategy and operations
The photos throughout this site are from an expedition to climb Ama Dablam in the Everest region of Nepal where I learned a lot about leadership, process discipline, a performance mindset and teamwork. Getting to the summit required the same things that make organizations succeed: a crystal-clear strategic objective, the right team, process discipline and the ability to grind away and work the plan, day after day, pitch after pitch.
I've been drawn to that kind of challenge my entire career.
I started by choosing to complete a combined MBA and Peace Corps program in Kyrgyzstan — two years leading a social enterprise in conditions where resources were scarce, the stakes were real, and earning community trust mattered more than any individual deliverable.
That experience shaped how I lead, and in the two decades since I’ve worked to gain the private sector organizational experience to do it at scale.
What that looks like in practice:
- Partnered with CEO and CFO to lead a $30M investor fundraise and enterprise-wide corporate crisis recovery as VP of Marketing.
- Rebuilt a nonprofit's go-to-market and sales enablement content to retain over $3M in earned income revenue.
- Grew a women's social enterprise cooperative income by 145% while leading a two-year Peace Corps program in Central Asia.
- Reduced technology spend by $1M through vendor optimization and process improvement while increasing lead volume and pipeline performance by 15%.
- Owned end-to-end planning and execution of Investor Day on London Stock Exchange in close partnership with CEO and Executive Leadership Team.
After 20+ years in management consulting (Bain & Co, Corporate Executive Board), business (MBA, Gartner, Ghirardelli, Persado, WANdisco) and nonprofit development (Fair Trade USA, The Natural Step, Peace Corps), I’ve realized that my expertise lies in enabling teams, organizations and executives to be their most effective through process improvement, effective technology adoption, operational excellence and clear strategy-to-execution alignment.
I'm now focused on bringing this private sector expertise to strategy and operations leadership roles in mission-focused organizations.
If you’re looking to build next-level organizational capabilities, I'd love to chat.
